Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of SummarizeTube (the website and the summarization service). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1 · The service

SummarizeTube turns a YouTube link into a structured summary — a one-line TL;DR, timestamped bullet points, and key conclusions. Summaries are generated from the video's publicly available captions (or from transcribed audio when no captions exist). We do not download, store, or redistribute video files.

2 · Free tier

Guests can try the service once without an account, counted per device and IP address. After you create a free account, you get 10 summaries a month — captioned and no-caption videos both count — on videos up to 30 minutes long. We may adjust the free allowance at any time.

3 · Subscriptions (Pro)

Pro is a recurring subscription billed at $9.9 / month (or the equivalent in your local currency at checkout). Billing is handled by PayPal, which processes your payment and issues your receipt. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from the link in your PayPal receipt or by contacting us; cancellation stops future renewals and your Pro access continues until the end of the paid period.

4 · Refunds

Because Pro unlocks the full service immediately, we generally do not offer refunds for partial periods. If you were charged in error or believe a charge is fraudulent, contact us within 14 days of the charge and we will review it with PayPal. The free tier always remains available, so you can try the service before paying.

5 · Acceptable use

You agree not to: reverse-engineer or scrape the service at scale; use it to violate any law; or use summaries to misrepresent what a video's creator said. The service is provided for personal productivity, research, and learning.

6 · AI-generated content

Summaries are produced by an AI model constrained to the source captions, and are provided "as is" without warranty. They are not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice. Although we design the summarizer to avoid inventing facts, you should verify anything important against the original video. SummarizeTube is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to YouTube, Google, or any transcription provider.

7 · Intellectual property

The SummarizeTube brand, design, and code are ours. The summaries you generate are yours to use. The underlying videos and captions belong to their respective creators and are used only to produce your summary.

8 · Third-party services

The service depends on third parties — YouTube (captions), our summarization model provider, and PayPal (billing). We are not responsible for those services' availability or their separate terms, which apply to their part of the flow.

9 · Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SummarizeTube is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

10 · Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
